Your Photographer was born from a desire to offer something different, a personalised photography experience that truly puts clients first. We recognised a gap in the market for flexible, professional photographers who tailor their approach to suit the unique needs of each school or event. From the beginning, our mission has been simple: to provide high-quality imagery with a personal touch. Whether it’s a formal, graduation, or corporate event, we work closely with our clients to deliver a seamless experience and beautiful results. Backed by a dedicated team of experienced photographers, Your Photographer is proud to offer a service that’s not only reliable and efficient but also customised and genuinely people focused.

OUR HISTORY
Your Photographer was founded in 2007 by a mother who, unable to find a photographer for her children, decided to build her own team of talented photographers. This team quickly gained popularity among families seeking quality portraits. By 2011, the business was thriving, but life became busier for the founder. At that point, the business was acquired by Melanie, one of the featured photographers whose work had already made a mark.
With Melanie’s background in event photography and high school formals, the company expanded its focus. That same year, Your Photographer captured its very first high school formal, a school client that Your Photographer still photographs today. In 2017, the company took another major step by acquiring a photography business specialising in event photography. This acquisition solidified Your Photographer as one of Brisbane’s premier event photography companies. The last 3 years has seen further acquisitions of companies that specialised only in formal photography, adding to already impressive portfolio of events.

At Your Photographer our mission is to capture all the moments, atmosphere and feel of events. We aim to provide guests, students and their families with quality photographs that highlight key milestone occasions. We place a strong emphasis on clear and open communication with our clients, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met at every step. Through professionalism and great service, we make sure each event and formal is well documented, reflecting the importance and magnitude of the event.

MELANIE
Managing Director & Lead Photographer
With over two decades of experience behind the camera, Melanie is the heart and driving force behind Your Photographer. What began as a passion for wedding photography quickly evolved. Melanie’s deep industry knowledge, technical expertise, and calm leadership ensure every event runs smoothly. She’s known for her eye for detail, her warm and professional approach, and her commitment to delivering consistently high-quality results. With a passion for developing innovative solutions and impactful imagery for schools, Melanie is constantly refining systems and processes to make things easier for clients with no-stress organisation and seamless execution at the core of everything she does.
DANIELLE
Photographer & Productions Manager
Danielle is our Lead Photographer and Productions Manager, bringing over 14 years of dedicated experience as an event photographer. From the very beginning of her career, she’s specialised in fast-paced, high-energy environments from school formals and graduations to large-scale events. Her ability to manage large groups with ease, and consistently deliver high quality images makes her an essential part of the Your Photographer team. As Productions Manager, Danielle oversees the smooth running of our post-production workflow, ensuring every gallery is delivered on time and to our highest standards.
SHADA
Office and Productions team
Shada first worked with Your Photographer over a decade ago as a photographer with a keen eye for detail and a calm, steady presence. After taking time out to start a family, we are thrilled to have her back on the team. Shada now focuses on managing and fulfilling the orders placed through our website, ensuring every print and product meets our professional standards. With a Bachelor of Photography and a strong background working in a professional printing lab, she brings a wealth of technical knowledge and precision to the role. Quietly efficient and endlessly calm, Shada keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Photographer & Videographer
Amy joined Your Photographer in 2022, bringing with her a diverse background in visual storytelling. Originally trained in videography, Amy has transitioned seamlessly into photography, capturing everything from portraits to large scale events. Her broad skill set, creative eye, and calm presence behind the camera make her a valuable part of the team. With a passion for creating meaningful imagery and a strong understanding of both motion and stills, Amy brings a fresh perspective and versatility to every shoot.
SAVANNAH
Photographer
Savannah joined Your Photographer in 2023, bringing a fresh perspective and heartfelt passion to the team. Having completed a Diploma in Photography and Digital Imaging, she approaches her work with both technical skill and creative confidence. Savannah is deeply inspired by human connection and the beauty of the world around us, and she thrives on capturing the essence of a moment. Her thoughtful approach and genuine love for storytelling shine through in every image she creates.
SARAH
Photographer & Photo Booth Attendant
Sarah joined Your Photographer in 2021, but photography has always been a part of her life. She grew up around the industry with her dad working alongside Melanie in event photography. Through this she developed a strong understanding of the fast paced world of formals from a young age. Creative at heart and known for her reliability and positive energy, Sarah approaches every shoot with a can do attitude and a calm, confident presence. Nothing is ever too hard, and she’s always ready to jump in and deliver beautiful, professional results.
CHARLIZE
Content Creator & Photo Booth Attendant
Charlize is the creative force behind much of the fun, engaging content at Your Photographer. As our dedicated Content Creator and Photo Booth Attendant, she brings a bubbly personality, strong attention to detail, and a flair for visual storytelling to everything she does. Charlize is passionate about capturing real moments and turning them into eye-catching content that reflects the energy of our events. Whether she’s curating posts, snapping behind-the-scenes shots, or helping guests strike a pose, Charlize adds creativity, positivity, and polish to every part of the experience.
PAULINA
Photographer
Paulina has been a passionate portrait photographer since 2015 and joined Your Photographer in 2022. With a strong background in capturing meaningful, timeless imagery, she is devoted to creating photographs that become cherished family memories. Always eager to grow, Paulina is constantly exploring new styles and techniques to refine her craft. She’s also one of our Shopping Centre Santa Photography specialists, known for her warm approach and ability to create a fun, festive experience for every family she photographs.
KATELYN
Photographer
Katelyn joined Your Photographer in 2020, bringing with her a solid background in school photography and a passion for capturing genuine, memorable moments. With years of experience working in school environments, she’s confident managing large groups, working efficiently under time pressure, and making students feel comfortable in front of the camera. Katelyn's ability to balance speed with quality ensures every event runs smoothly and every image is delivered to our high standard.

Photographer
Ange joined Your Photographer in 2021, bringing with her a background in wedding photography and a keen eye for detail. Her experience in capturing once-in-a-lifetime events translates perfectly to the fast paced world of school formals, where timing and precision are everything. Known for her calm presence and meticulous approach, Ange consistently delivers polished, high quality images that clients love.

Photographer
Kaity joined Your Photographer in 2023 and has been brightening up the team ever since with her unstoppable positivity and infectious enthusiasm. Always cheery and full of energy, Kaity brings a bubbly presence to every shoot, making people feel instantly at ease. With a background in freelance photography since 2015, she’s captured everything from formals to family portraits and business branding. With years of customer service and leadership experience, she’s reliable, hardworking, and ready for anything.

Photographer
Aether is an emerging talent with a passion for people, creativity, and storytelling. Joining Your Photographer in 2025 after completing their studies in photography, Aether brings fresh energy and a unique perspective. Their journey began working with friends and family, blending technical skills with a creative flair. Aether is driven to grow and learn. With a background in hospitality, they bring a strong understanding of nature of large scale events, reliability, and a genuine desire to create images that connect.
ELLIE
Photographer
Ellie brings a passion for storytelling and a strong background in event photography to the Your Photographer team. With years of experience capturing everything from weddings to corporate events, she’s skilled in both posed portraiture and candid moments, always aiming to reflect the energy of the event. With a love of people, roving photography and working in fast-paced environments, Ellie approaches every shoot with calm focus and natural rapport with guests.
FATIMA
Photographer
Fatima is an experienced and passionate photographer who joined Your Photographer with a strong focus on family portraits and children’s photography. Fatima has background in Kindergarten and Daycare photography, photographing children and educators in various settings, capturing high quality portraits under the pressure of time.
ADAM
Photographer
Adam brings a unique combination of discipline, adaptability, and creative skill to the team. With 14 years of service in the Australian Defence Force, Adam’s calm under pressure and exceptional attention to detail make him a perfect fit for the fast-paced nature of events. Since leaving the military in 2021, photography has been his passion, specialising in lifestyle, portrait, event, and promotional imagery. His ability to work efficiently, connect with people, and consistently deliver high quality results aligns perfectly with Your Photographer’s commitment to professionalism and excellence.
PEIRAN
Photographer
Peiran brings a wealth of experience and versatility to the Your Photographer team. With a strong background in event photography, he has captured countless high school and university graduation ceremonies and formals. His calm and friendly manner, helps subjects feel at ease and results in polished, natural images every time. He’s also an experienced sports photographer. His adaptability, professionalism, and commitment to excellence make him a perfect fit for the fast-paced, high-standard environment at Your Photographer.
STEVE
Logistics & Support Coordinator; Director of Snacks & Coffee
Every team needs someone who keeps things moving and for Your Photographer, that’s Steve. As the go-to guy for coffee runs, food deliveries, gear transport, and all the heavy lifting, he plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in making sure our events run smoothly. Whether it’s driving equipment across town or keeping the team fuelled, Steve is always ready to help. Reliable, hands-on, and endlessly supportive, he’s an essential part of the Your Photographer crew.
CAMERON
Logistics & Support Coordinator
Cameron plays a key role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes at Your Photographer. Specialising in equipment transport and on-the-job support, he ensures our team has everything they need - where they need it, when they need it. From loading and unloading gear to assisting with logistics on event days, Cam is dependable, efficient, and always ready to lend a hand. His can do attitude make him an invaluable part of our crew, helping to deliver the seamless experience our clients count on.

Account Manager
Cookie is the accounts guru behind the scenes at Your Photographer, making sure everything runs smoothly when it comes to payments and laybys. She helps keep the business organised and our clients’ payment plans running seamlessly. Reliable, efficient, and always happy to help, she is a trusted part of the team.
LIZ
Photographer
Liz brings over five years of experience in photography, videography to the Your Photographer team. Her background spans everything from fashion and portrait work to weddings, food, and dance, making her a versatile asset on formal nights. Backed by a Diploma in Photography and Digital Imaging, Liz combines creativity with strong technical skills. She's a natural team player who helps keep things running smoothly.

Photographer
With a background in wedding photography, Sam has mastered the art of capturing people at their best...naturally and with ease. His relaxed approach helps students and guests feel comfortable in front of the camera. Sam is highly experienced in working to tight timelines, adapting on the go, and capturing the energy and special moments of any event. From helping organise group shots to documenting the candid fun, Sam brings a calm presence to every formal and event he photographs.
